Basics

This page explains the basics of the public-facing features of RecordRanks, which are accessible to all members of an individual community, or to anyone in general, if the space is set to public.

Spaces

A space on RecordRanks represents a sports community. It contains all of its competitions, events, results, records, competitors, etc. It's also fully customisable, including the competition types – in-person competition, online competition, casual meetup – page contents, social links, and other custom features. Competitions

The competitions page lists all competitions for the space: past, ongoing, and upcoming. Go to an individual competition page to see the list of events and rounds, the schedule (unless it has the type Meetup; meetups don't have schedules), and live results for each event and round.

Rankings

The rankings page acts as an all-time leaderboard for each event, showing either the best result for each competitor or all the best results, sorted either by the best single result or the best average result (e.g. Average of 5 attempts). You can filter by region – World, continent, country, state – and by category: competitions, meetups, online. The rankings update automatically as soon as competition results are published by the space admins. Each result links to the competitor's profile page as well as the competition where the result was achieved.

Records

The records page tracks the best results ever achieved in the space – World records, continental records, national records – across all events. Records are calculated automatically as soon as competition results are published by the space admins. Each record includes details like the competition the record was achieved in, the date, and the competitor who achieved it.

The default view displays World records. To see continental or national/regional records, use the region filter. Records are also displayed separately for each category: competitions, meetups, online. Records from different categories have no effect on one another. Historical records are displayed in a dedicated view, so you can see how the event evolved over time. Just select an event to see its record history. There is a separate page for each event category/division.

Rules

The rules page is a fully customisable page that defines how the space is run: general competition rules, event-specific regulations, equipment requirements, and anything else relevant to an individual sports community. It's written and maintained by the space admins.
